2025 Mayor’s Arts Awards Recipients Announced

And with that, the Muncie Arts and Culture Council (MuncieArts), in conjunction with the City of Muncie, rocked the 2025 Mayor’s Arts Awards on Friday, Sept. 19, at Muncie Civic Theatre.
Mayor’s Arts Awards to honor local artists, advocates Sept. 19
The office of Mayor Dan Ridenour and the Muncie Arts and Culture Council (MuncieArts) are pleased to announce more than 20 nominees for the 2025 Mayor’s Arts Awards. This year, the Mayor’s Arts Awards is marking 10 years of celebrating Muncie’s vibrant arts community. The ceremony will be Friday, Sept. 19, at 7 p.m. at Muncie Civic Theatre, 216 E. Main St.
MuncieArts Announces Selected Artists and Projects for $500,000 Public Art Initiative

Designed by the Public: Something for Everyone in Muncie
Think of "Designed by the Public" as a playful interactive experience, courtesy of Mexico-based Tatiana Bilbao Estudio and Exhibit Columbus. This isn't your typical "look but don't touch" art installation—it's a creative free-for-all where Muncie residents get to play architect, designer, and dreamer all at once.

MuncieArts is proud to announce the appointment of Tania Said as its new Executive Director. With more than 30 years of experience in museums, higher education, and nonprofits, Said brings a wealth of knowledge and passion for the arts to the organization.

Local artists Aimee Maychack and Mary Arnett-Delaney (M.A-D.), are hosting a pop-up shop at the PlySpace Gallery - featuring cards, mini-graphic novels, paintings, linocuts, prints, stickers, and more! Come by between 5:30-8:30 to check out the wares and support local artists!
