Muncie Arts and Culture Council Receives Grants to Support 2025–2026 Initiatives
Indiana Arts Commission, Ball Brothers Foundation, and The Community Foundation of Muncie and Delaware County Grant Funding for Operations and Programming
The Muncie Arts and Culture Council (MuncieArts) has been awarded significant operations-related grant funding from three major partners to strengthen its mission of championing arts experiences, public art, and a thriving community of artists and allies in Muncie, Indiana.
For Fiscal Year 2026, MuncieArts received an $8,150 grant from the Indiana Arts Commission (IAC) and a $25,000 grant from the Ball Brothers Foundation in support of operations and community arts programming. Earlier this year, MuncieArts was also awarded a $55,000 grant for operations from The Community Foundation of Muncie and Delaware County, representing the first year of a two-year commitment.
The Community Foundation grant was funded through the Unrestricted Fund of The Community Foundation, the Julian and Suzanne Gresham Fund, the KAKATU Foundation/David and Joanna Meeks Fund, the Casey and Jennifer Stanley Fund, and the Robert and Janet Stratton Fund. This investment provides essential operating support, ensuring MuncieArts’ continued capacity to serve the local arts ecosystem and foster creative placemaking across Delaware County.
“We are sincerely thankful to all our funders for their generous support,” said Kim Miller, President of the Muncie Arts and Culture Council board. “These operating funds support our organization to increase the growth of arts and culture in our community, while empowering creativity, connection, and new possibilities. Thanks to this support, we can keep creating, sharing, and dreaming bigger for the future.”
The Indiana Arts Commission grant, made possible through funding provided by the Indiana General Assembly and the National Endowment for the Art (a federal agency) supports MuncieArts’ statewide-recognized role as a leader in advancing access to the arts and promoting cultural vitality.
The Ball Brothers Foundation grant underscores the importance of the arts to Muncie’s broader community development goals—fueling economic growth, community pride, and the health and wellness of residents.
“We are deeply grateful for the confidence and trust our funders place in MuncieArts,” said Tania Said, Executive Director of the Muncie Arts and Culture Council. “Operations support from the Indiana Arts Commission, Ball Brothers Foundation, and The Community Foundation of Muncie and Delaware County allows us to continue building a creative, inclusive, and connected Muncie through arts and culture. Together, we are demonstrating that both arts and culture are vital to our community’s well-being and future prosperity.”
These grants will support a range of 2025–2026 initiatives, including new public art installations, area programming, and collaborations with neighborhood partners and local artists. MuncieArts will also expand professional development opportunities for creatives and advance strategic planning for the city’s growing public art program, ensuring that Muncie remains a place where the arts and our community thrive together.
