I call myself a:

Dancer/Choreographer/Creative Director

What is your creative practice?

Dance, I empower individuals through the art form of dancing.

How did you get started in your practice?

I've always had a passion for dancing but didn't really want to be a dancer until I watched So You Think You Can Dance for the first time. That was when I saw dance as a career.

Are you an artist full time? If no, what is your day job?

No, I also work as a travel agent.

How do you find time to make your work?

Luckily I can do my craft just about anywhere. So I tend to always have time to work on my craft. Sometimes I have to schedule it into my day so that way I make sure to get some "work" done.

WHAT MATERIALS, INSTRUMENTS, OR TECHNOLOGY DO YOU USE IN YOUR PRACTICE?

Mainly just music. I do use different types of technology depending on where I'm creating. My AirPods have definitely become my bestfriend, I love to create in them and get lost to music.

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE THING IN YOUR STUDIO / WORKSPACE?

My workspace is everywhere so I don't have a favorite thing in it, but my favorite place to create is in my head because I'm able to picture it and see the way the music makes my body move.

What do you wish others knew about your practice?

You don't have to be a great dancer to dance. Dance isn't about being a great dancer, its about expressing yourself. If you ever take one of my classes, you'll understand what I mean by that. I always say in my classes, ANYONE can become a dancer, and at ANY age.

If you could be doing anything right now, what would it be?

I would love to travel all over the world and teach dance. I want to help change the world through dance.

Where do you find your inspiration?

I watch a lot of dance videos and concept videos on youtube. I also get really inspired by new music.

What other creative practitioners do you look to for inspiration?

My follow a lot of choreographers, I think some of my favorites would be Dexter Carr, Miguel Zarate, Galen Hooks and that's just to name a few. I could go on and on about the dancers, choreographers, and creative directors both young and older that I look too for inspiration.

What is your favorite part about being an artist in Muncie?

Getting to share my gift with the community that helped me figure out my passion for my gift.

What is your favorite place in Muncie?

I honestly have to say Pizza King will forever be my favorite place in Muncie.

What is your favorite creative place to go

I would say my bedroom or a dance studio. Both are when I feel the most free and can really explore.
