Join Our Team: Help Shape the Future of Arts and Culture in Muncie
The Muncie Arts and Culture Council (MuncieArts) is growing, and we're looking for someone who believes that the arts have the power to strengthen communities.
We're seeking an Administrative Coordinator who is highly organized, collaborative, and excited to help build the systems that allow creativity to flourish. If you enjoy creating order from complexity, supporting a mission-driven team, and working with people who are passionate about making a difference, we'd love to hear from you.
A Behind-the-Scenes Role with Community Impact
Every mural, public art project, artist opportunity, community partnership, and cultural event depends on strong organizational support. As our Administrative Coordinator, you'll help ensure that MuncieArts operates efficiently so our staff, board, artists, and volunteers can continue creating meaningful experiences throughout Muncie and Delaware County.
This isn't simply an administrative position—it's an opportunity to become an essential part of an organization that champions arts experiences, public art, and a thriving community of artists and allies.
You'll work closely with our Executive Director while helping strengthen the day-to-day operations that keep our organization moving forward during an exciting period of growth.
What You'll Do
As Administrative Coordinator, you'll help oversee many of the systems that keep MuncieArts running smoothly. Your work will include:
Supporting financial administration through invoice tracking, reimbursements, vendor coordination, and budget support.
Maintaining organized digital and physical records while improving office procedures and workflows.
Coordinating office technology, software systems, shared files, phone systems, and operational resources.
Providing administrative support for the Executive Director, Board of Directors, and committees by coordinating meetings, agendas, and board materials.
Creating a welcoming, professional office environment for artists, community members, partners, donors, and visitors.
Assisting with organizational events and community engagement activities that celebrate creativity throughout our region.
Every day will bring new opportunities to solve problems, support the creative community, and contribute to projects that make where we live more vibrant.
Who We're Looking For
We're searching for someone who enjoys organizing projects, managing details, and helping others succeed. The ideal candidate is:
Organized and dependable
A strong communicator
Comfortable learning new technology and software
Able to manage multiple priorities independently
Passionate about serving the community
Excited by the role arts and culture play in creating thriving places
Experience in office administration, nonprofit operations, customer service, or organizational support is valuable, but just as important is a positive attitude, curiosity, and a desire to learn.
Experience with Google Workspace and QuickBooks is helpful but not required.
